Food waste has become a controversial topic in the recent years, with excessive amounts of edibles being dumped, expediting environmental and social effects, such as the release of greenhouse gases, starvation in developing countries as well as depletion of natural resources.

The aim of this data visualisation would be to condense the information currently available, to inform and educate the public on the impacts food waste and what can be done to alleviate this situation. We are seeing food production increase while more of the population become malnourished. That should not be the case.
